At This Year’s Oscars, Two Films Hit All ‘Four Quadrants’

In 1998, two seemingly unrelated things happened in the film business. More than 57 million people — a record number — watched the Academy Awards, and later that year the term “four-quadrant” movie appeared for the first time in Hollywood trade newspapers.
