‘Deadpool 3’: Morena Baccarin In Talks To Return As Vanessa

Deadpool 3 is set to push the titular Merc with a Mouth deeper into his own universe and, potentially, through the multiverse. The series also seems to be keeping around much of its staple cast, with Morena Baccarin confirming talks for her to reprise her role as Vanessa.

Recent comments from Hugh Jackman have hinted that Deadpool 3 would involve time travel, fans were worried that much of the main cast would be cleaved to make room for interactions between him and Ryan Reynolds. However, it was recently confirmed that Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams would be reprising their roles as Dopinder and Blind Al respectively in the film, joining newcomers Jackman, Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. This seemed to confirm that at least some of the cast from prior films would reappear in the sequel. When asked about if she would make a return during an episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, Baccarin said that she’d like to be in it, but nothing is settled:

“I’d like to be in it,” She told Rosenbaum. “They have called me about being in it. We have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. It may or may not work out. I don’t know.”

A number of rumors suggest that Deadpool 3 will see Wade Wilson and Wolverine coming to blows with the MCU’s TVA following Deadpool disrupting the timeline. A story like this would be a natural fit for Vanessa to return for given the ending of Deadpool 2 involved Wade using a time travelling device to save her from an early death at the hands of mercenaries. A multiverse movie could actually serve to expand the role of Vanessa, potentially even giving her the mutant powers she has in the comics as Copycat. Only time will tell if Baccarin will end up reprising her role and what form that will take.
