Sinha murder: Pradeep, Liakat seek acquittal

Condemned convicts Pradeep Kunar Das and Liakat Ali yesterday filed three separate appeals with the High Court, seeking cancellation of their punishments and requesting acquittal.

The suspended police officers were convicted in the sensational murder case of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Pradeep and Liakat claimed in their appeal that they were innocent and the charges against them were faulty.

On January 31, Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail sentenced Pradeep and Liakat to death and six others to life in prison.
