Sony Sets Release Dates For Two Mystery Marvel Movies In 2024 & 2025
Sony has officially announced the release dates of two more Marvel movies. The projects are slated to hit theaters on November 8, 2024, and June 27, 2025, and will also be screened in IMAX.
Speculation is already running rampant about what these mystery films could entail. One popular conjecture is the possibility of Venom 3, the next installment in the successful series starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. The project is currently in pre-production and expected to begin shooting soon.
Another exciting prospect for the untitled Sony/Marvel movies is the continuation of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series. After the widely acclaimed Spider-Man: No Way Home, which showcased Holland’s Peter Parker in an epic multiverse adventure, Marvel fans are eager to see what the future holds for the web-slinger
While the details about these upcoming films remain shrouded in mystery, Sony’s next Marvel movie is Kraven the Hunter. Scheduled for release on October 6, 2023, Kraven will mark the debut of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man villain.
Who is Kraven the Hunter?
Directed by J.C. Chandor, Kraven is rated R and boasts an impressive cast, including Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott and Russell Crowe.
A ruthless big game hunter who seeks the ultimate challenge in hunting Spider-Man, Kraven was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #15. In the comics, Kraven is known for his physical strength, expert tracking skilll and his use of a serum that gives him enhanced abilities.
Kraven the Hunter was written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk, with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and David Householter on board as producers. While the footage did not reveal much about the plot of Sony’s latest live-action Marvel adaptation, it did provide a glimpse into its tone and style.
