Spice trader stabbed to death in Dhaka’s Jatrabari

A spice trader was stabbed to death in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mosharraf Hossain (45), hailing from Gopalganj district.

Family members suspected that muggers stabbed him while he was on his way to work around 4:00am.

A rickshaw-puller found Mosharraf lying near the Hanif flyover at Saidabad and asking for his home address took him there. Mosharraf’s relatives later took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said Shah Jamal, victim’s nephew.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the man bore more than one stab mark in the chest.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
