‘The Marvels’: Brie Larson Rumored To Be Behind Delay

The upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels has been delayed once again from its release date of July 28, 2023 to the new date of November 10, 2023. A new rumor suggests that the reason for this delay was actually due to the behavior of the film’s star Brie Larson.

This rumor comes from a recent episode of The Hot Mic. According to host Jeff Sneider, the delay comes from the production being chaos. He describes Larson as a “nightmare” and that she has repeatedly clashed with co-star Teyonah Parris, who is set to play Monica Rambeau in the film. Sneider did not clarify exactly how this behavior may have interferred with the post-production process.

This contradicts prior reports from The Wrap that contribute the delay to allowing more time for post-production work. Marvel Studios has been in hot water in recent years for their VFX work, with the most recent example of this being the backlash to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Regardless of the reason for the delay of The Marvels, most fans seem to agree that more time put into VFX can only be a good thing.
