Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that enough sheets and pillows are being made in Bangladesh. He made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting of the task force committee on law and order at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
Asked about the visit of Inspector General of Police (IGP) to Germany to check the quality of bed sheets and pillow covers at the press conference, the Home Minister said, “There are enough sheets and pillows in our country. We are also exporting abroad.
The Home Ministry recently issued an order. It is said that three government officials, including the Inspector General of Police, are going to Germany on a nine-day visit to check the quality of one lakh double bed sheets and pillow covers. This created discussion and criticism.
Later on Saturday, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (Media and PR) said. Kamruzzaman said in a text message that the quality of the bed sheets and pillow covers was not checked, but the inspector general of police was supposed to go to Germany to check the quality of the materials used in these items. This confusion stems from an unintentional mistake in a government order.
