There were numerous bridges during Khaleda Zia’s time, drums were not beaten: Rizvi
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the government is controlling the media through intimidation. An example of this is the Padma Bridge. News about Padma Bridge is being published in all media. But there were many bridges and culverts during Khaleda Zia’s time, they were not covered with drums.
Mentioning that the Awami League government is misusing the media, Rizvi said that the freedom of the Awami League and the media does not go together. There are many media outlets now, but the government controls them through intimidation.
There were numerous bridges during Khaleda Zia’s time, drums were not beaten: Rizvi
An example of which is now being published in all media about the Padma Bridge. That is fascism. Numerous bridges and culverts have been built during the rule of Khaleda Zia.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said this at a discussion meeting at Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Hall on the third floor of the National Press Club in the capital on Thursday afternoon. On the occasion of ‘Black Day’ of Newspapers on 16 June, Bangladesh Youth Forum organized this discussion meeting titled ‘Freedom of Newspaper and Today’s Bangladesh
The BNP leader said the government has built the Padma bridge with its own money. This is a complete lie; Instead, the Padma Bridge has been built with a high interest loan from China. The burden of this debt must be repaid by all. In fact, the money was supposed to be spent, but it didn’t happen; Rather more money has been spent. Basically, this money has been smuggled abroad.
Addressing the Prime Minister, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “Why is the Prime Minister worried about the inauguration of the Padma Bridge? Everything is under your control. You have so many forces, so many intelligence agencies, so what do they do? It is said that who is in the temple? Everything is in your hands and you are in danger of an accident. Your law enforcement forces even filed a false case in the name of the dead leader of the BNP. But we are afraid that your people will put such a mishap on Udor Pindi Budho’s neck. ‘
Rizvi said the Awami League has now emerged in a new form of fascism. The neo-liberals are even more horrible than in 1975. Today journalists cannot write independently. The government has shut down the media which is for the people, for freedom. New black laws have been made on him. The British government did not make such a strict law. But Sheikh Hasina did. It is a terrible form of Nazism and fascism.
President of Bangladesh Youth Forum Muhammad Saidur Rahman presided over the function and Shahadat Hossain Biplob conducted the program.
